"The Lido" is another island in Venice's lagoon. It acts as a natural breakwater, blocking Venice from the wind and waves of the Adriatic Sea. While we appreciated the lack of the wind and waves when riding around the lagoon and canals of Venice, there came a day when the wind and waves of the Adriatic were exactly what we were looking for! After a quick vaporetto ride, we arrived at "The Lido", ready for some fun in the sun. :)
Best Buds getting ready for a swim in the Adriatic Sea! They really are great playmates for each other ~ thank goodness since when we travel, they are all they've got!
Of course, they find some way to be competitive in the water.
What do you think? Should he grow a goatee someday?
Somehow it always seems to be Chris getting buried and Ben doing the burying. Not sure whether that means Chris is on the losing end of things or the winning end. Oh well, he doesn't seem to mind.
Ben is such a great big brother ~ getting Chris a drink when he asked for one!
Free at last!
Had to include this pic ~ it reminded me of a picture I took of the boys when we were at a beach in Cornwall, England last year, in which the boys were in the water and the people walking by were in winter coats. This is not QUITE that bad, but certainly all the other people in this photo look prepared for cooler weather. There were plenty of other people in the water, but as I think back, it was mostly children. They just don't seem to be phased by cold water. :)
Next up....St. Mark's Basilica
These pics made me giggle! I especially love the one where Chris' skin is ashen in color from the sand. Looks like lots of fun!!
ReplyDeleteIt WAS fun Kris ~ a great day! Thanks for posting comments....I never know if anyone is ready all this, but I know I can count on you. :)
